Tomato Clowns

Another fish question, so i can decide what to purchase. Just curious if two tomatos would be too aggresive, and grow too large for my forty gallon tank. If they would what are some other cool clowns i clould keep in a forty besides percs? Thanks

IME Tomatoes get very mean and territoral. They do get somewhat large. I would suggest Perc's or maybe some saddlebacks. There is a large variety out there just look at some pics and decide what you like. I see ytou have one perc why not add another. I wouldalso suggest you dont mix clown species this is bad news in most cases

Skunk clowns stay small.
Clarkis are smallish but they are mean like maroons sometimes.
Just get perculas.

My tomato pair roam the full extent of the 170 gal. And they are the bosses. However, their main area is a sq. ft or so around the bubble coral they live in.

The 40 would be iffy for them, but perhaps enough if they were alone or with something like a dottyback or damsel only.

For sure percs, who are bad swimmers and smaller would be better.

Orange skunks are also great for that size, and dont roam far from their home. As for size, I have a lone pink skunk in my 180 that is much larger than momma tomato, she is huge.
