Tom Wyatt Saved My Tank!!!
So I feel I need to tell this story
Tom came to Atlanta to pick up my 135 for some kewl voodoo experiment he is doing that we will all surely benefit from.
I had met him at the LFS where the tank was on "double plus mark-up consignment"
I was going through the story of coming home and finding my tank at almost 90 degrees...I lost a few fish and some Gorgonia (ok..I can't spell..GRIN..that's what they make spell check for these days) and Ghanapora (see, I told you).
So the LFS is telling me to buy a chiller ...
Tom says...Hey..what type of canopy do you have...we discuss...what kind of tank do you have? we discuss..."Do you have lids on the top?" to which I reply yes...
When did you put them on? ...the alarm bells go off in my head...right before I started noticing the temps up there...somewhere in the back of my Military Pilot Brain...evaporative cooling starts bubbling up.
So...I went home like a good little student and pulled the acrylic lids off of the 150 and....temps are stable again at 80-82 degrees.
Hats off to Tom!!! He saved my fish tank!

For whatever it is worth. We, on this forum, and especially those who are able to have contact with Tom in person, should feel very fortunate, imo. Tom, is amazing. He knows virtually everything, and is nice too!
That combination is almost non-existent.
We are lucky to have him here responding so often, imo.

Yeah, Tom's an ok guy.
Seriously though, I'm glad he made the jump to TRT. He came over to "visit" and help me out with a knotty problem when I first started moderating here.... and we've been lucky enough to have him stick around ever since.
And I think I still owe him a margarita.

Yikes! I can see that head of his swelling
Agreed, folks, on all points. Tom is right there to help folks in many ways, and even on the little tanks like mine. Way to go, Tom!
