Toadstool question
I want to get a toadstool but im afraid of it releasing toxins. Do they always do that or does it depend on what kind of corals you have with it?? The corals I plan to have are zoas, pumping xenia, hammer, blastomussa, pipe organ, ricordias, and a gorgonia. Would they be ok with a toadstool???

I think a toadstool will be fine with those corals. I don't think you have to worry about toxins, either.
As a side note, hammers have long sweeper tentacles...but you prolly know that already.

Not the best pic...but I snapped this one night when mine was sticking its tentacle way out...they are generally safe to put next to other hammers or frogspawns...but this one fell on top of my xenia while I was on vacation and killed the xenia

Leather's toxins are only really a problem to SPS, that being said you should run carbon and a skimmer anyway.

I have a toadstoll with SPS LPS and clams. I run carbon out of a canister and really never had an issue for almost 2 years. Growth depends on a few things but mine grows on a slow to moderate level. Not even close to the speed of Zoas or xenia

I second this. I have SPS, LPS and Clams. I also have several types of leathers. I run carbon in a bag in my sump for about a week every month. Everything is just fine and growing well.
As far as feeding, I don't do anything for the leathers.

I place mine near the top of the tank ( the trunk started growing before this as he wanted more light).... in good flow.
He also happens to sit where he catches some of the pellet food every day...he has grown to almost twice the size as the one that the LFS has in their show tank...and they both spawned from the same parent at the same time...not sure if him catching pellet food caused that or not though..could just be coincidence.
