Toadstool

I recently bought a toadstool leather and it opened up fine first 2 days after acclimation(dripped over 2 hours), now it is standing up right and has enough water flow and lighting and i dose the tank properly but i am getting no polyp extension. I have xenia which are doing great and pulsing daily, but i don't understand why i am getting no polyp extension on my toadstool.

It may be getting ready to shed. Does the top of the capitulum look shiny or waxy? If this is this case give it a few days and this outer layer should come off if there is adequite flow. If it is standing up straight and not folded over and otherwise looks healthy I would give it several days to see if the polyps will come out. Mine would always close up now and then toward the end of the lighting period and sometimes not open up for a few days without shedding.

Ok phew it does look waxy and shiny on the top where the polyps extend, i took a turkey baster and blew off some hanging skin looking stuff. It is standing straight up and has good color to it (normal) it has not extended since 5-21 and before that it was extended beautifully. I will keep and eye on it, and thanks for the help.

Toadstools can be finicky. They will show no polyp extension for a week or two, and then boom, it is larger then life and acting as the prize coral of the tank. Esp if it feels firm and is standing tall, it is fine.
