toadstool

About 2 weeks ago, Toadie, the toadstool finally attached to his rubble rock. So, I put the rock he is attached on into a crevice, but it keeps falling to the sand. What's the best place for a toadstool? Can I burry the rock in the sand? His polyps are fully extended. Also, a dumb question, but with my PC lighting, how soon do you see the advantages of brighter light, with like coralline growth?

Hi Freckles, as far as the coralline IME, adding a alk buffer really helps the purple stuff. When my dkh readings were low and I started using a 2 part, the coralline took off. Of course you don't want to add chems if you don't need it so always test first. You can also get some scrapings from a tank at the lfs and sprinkle it in your tank, it will "seed" it. Eventually it will grow and grow and grow, your arm will get tired from all the glass cleaning HTH

Yes, you can put the toadstool in the sand. That is where mine is, and he loves it there!

I have some at the top. some in the middle and some on the sand...they all seem to be doing well. I have a 105 Oceanic show (tall) tank with PC lighting.
