Cool

To ozonate or not to ozonate?

We are thinking of investing in a good water filter as well- thanks for all of the other posts on Ro/DI units. Very helpful!
The Sparkletts water we get delivered is Ro/Di and also Ozonated. ($2.25/ 5 gal; a good price for a big facility, but still about 100.00/ month for ALL our animals- not just fish)
Im guessing an RO/DI unit would save us money, even with upkeep. However, Even if I do the filtering myself, Im sure I will not be able to do ozonate the water. Especially not for all of the amphibians, and such.
How important is ozonating? Would I be getting a lesser quality water just to save a few bucks?

Igordon,

it's not going to matter that much as long as you keep your filters up to date.

You're not talking dart frogs are you??

No- all our animals are rescues from the annoying herp trade. No one gives up darts .
Although the Ft. Wayne Zoo keeps trying to give their surplus to us!

Whew, just checking cause if it was, all bets are off.

One of our neighbors is CB Distributors, the dart frog people. I know Clifford goes through great pains with their water.

BTW we use UV when we need to sterilize our water, it doesn't give me a headache.
