Ok, I "test ran" my 40 gallon setup with freshwater to test for leaks and "design flaws".I runs great with one exception. The sump is a drilled 10 gallon with the pump attached directly to the bulkhead with a 1/2" PVC nipple.
The pump is a Mag 5 and is EXTREMELY quiet.
My problem is the hum/vibration.The pump causes the sump to create a vibrating hum which can be heard in my bedroom directly below the tank.
My question is...short of re attaching the pump using flex hose...Is there someting I can put UNDERNEATH the pump and sump to limit the vibration being transmitted to my stand? I was think some type of dense foam or bubble wrap.Any suggestions?
