tips for painting your tank

i painted the back of my tank today!!!!!

I used engine block paint (which withstands high temperatures) because it is more scratch resistant. If any of you are doing this, dont forget to cover everything in the room because of overspray...i fact, try not to do it in your house at all. if you have overspills, tape the border off so you can still see them from the back!!!!!

my skimmer comes MONDAY!!

I bought the AquaC ev200!!!!!!

I bought a ton of salt today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm almost done with the plumbing!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Ivet,

Do you have the 55gal short block or the 55 gal long block ? hehe

The AquaC's are good skimmers- keep in mind when you set yours up that you may not see it skim very often - specially w/ the 200 on your 55 tank. I have a 90 gal w/the 150 and it skims like crazy for a few hours then nothing for a few days my bio load is small -only two fish and some cleanup critters, so don't get to upset or drive yourself crazy trying to adjust it.

Have fun w/ the rest of the set-up, btw what are you planning on keeping?

i've got a 200 with an 8 barrel and a blower!

thanks for the info on the AquaC!

<btw what are you planning on keeping?>

I have no idea yet because I still have a lot of reading to do. I'm trying not to rush at all. I want to be absolutely sure about everything i do. So far I know I am going to have about 250 pounds of live rock...I am really interested in clams and anenomies...but like I said, tons of reading to do. I have no idea what corals I like. I never get to see any in person because youngstown ohio sucks, so i will need help when that time comes I'm about $2500 in so far, including the tank, lighting, and hardware.

thanks!!!!!
