so the corals don't seem as happy as they could be so I figured time to test...

sg 1.025 with refractometer
calcium 380
dhk 6
nitrate - 15 ish
using IO salt

What kind of coral load do you have??
Your numbers all appear fine and nothing that jumps out as something that could make your corals all that unhappy.
Your nitrates could be lower(unless you have stonies, it shouldnt matter much), and your alk and calcium could be a touch higher. Do you dose any calcium and alk or just water changes??
How do you achive flow in the tank??

I maintain a Alk of 8-9 and a CA of 420-430.
To bump the alk (the biggest problem) you can simply use Arm and Hammer baking soda. Use this to find out how much to add:

Oops,...
http://jdieck1.home.comcast.net/chemcalc.html
Don't forget to switch it off of Meq/L and to Dkh.
This link will also tell you how much of a number of products to use to bump your CA,... If you can get Dow Flake it is by far the chepest way to do it.

not super unhappy just not real extended... I have softies and few LPS - Frogspawn and Torch
2 finger leathers
zoos
rics
shrooms
sun coral
Just water changes 20% once a week- didn't want to mess with what I don't understand Cal ect...
flow is 2 mj 1200
spray bar run by mj900
tank is 55 gal
I feed daily so to keep nitrates down I do larger water changes more frequently.

If you raise your alk to 8 or 9 using baking soda, in a couple of days I'd bet your ph would be about 8.3
