my 55 was running for 3 months before I put in a couple zoanthid frags. they are doing good under just a 55 watt PC and 40 watt Actinic.. but thats probably not reccomended either..

i waited several months before putting anything real in the tank. i had to do some rescues because someone was moving, but i did not put anything i bought in there for at least three months as the tank cycled.

if you are using a sand bed than i strongly suggest waiting 2 months before adding anything to the tank. sand bed tanks go through at least one huge algae bloom before maturing. trying to fight the diatom bloom with corals in the tank is a recipe for frustration. just let the diatoms do thier things before adding anything you do not want to be covered in diatoms.
