Time Frame Question?

The purple tang has been battling ich, for about two weeks now. He's been chowing garlic soaked morsels everyday and is still very active. I don't see a decline in the ich on him. I'm wondering how long he can go untill I try to catch him and give the fw dip (as a last resort). I don't want to pull him out, I feel that would stress him to much to sit in a small hospital tank. I do have uv on the reef now, and none of the other fish show any signs of ich. I hate to dip him, but if time is running out for him...I will!

Well since he has lasted this long, I would continue with the present course of action. Are you fortifying food with Selcon yet? If not i would do that, watch water params, slowly drop nitrates as low as possible and keep up with the UV. Hopefully you can get him to strengthen his own immune system and he can fight off the infestation. Keep in mind the ich pathogen will always be present waiting for a weakened victim to strike

Yeah Nick..if he's still eating and active, no sense in stressing him out. Have you seen the shrimp cleaning him at all? Still planning on getting the gobies?

Feed good foods like mysis shrimp and plenty of nori..italian style...and get some selcon like doug said!
