Time for new pump

Im getting closer and closer to having everything I need for my rebuilt reef tank. One of the last pieces I need is a new in sump pump. There are alot of them out there and I need one about 500-700 gallons at about 6 foot. One of the main requirments for this pump is it has to be quiet as the aquarium is at the foot of my bed. Does anyone have a recomindation?

I would say a mag pump for internal use.

trust me on this, there is only one pump for you if you want quiet. any of the Velocity pumps. a Velocity 2 sounds about right for what you are asking. maybe even a Velocity 1. these seem to be very conservatively rated. besides if you wanted to you could put an eductor on the outlet of a Velocity T1 and get some monster flow without much effort. the biggest drawback to Velocities is that they do heat the water. they are also external pumps. it is just what makes them quiet. i have tried all kinds of Mags and they are very hit or miss. much more miss than hit when it comes to quiet.
