tile sealant

Last night I was cleaning my tank (bare bottom), dropped a rock and nearly cracked the floor of the tank so Im going to cover it. I read through the threads and found one where someone used limstone floor tiles.

Does anyone know of any problems with this?

Any ideas on what to seal the gaps with? (lots of live critters in tank)

My concern with limestone tiles would be the possibilty of metal contamination, tho prolly ok, rinse it well, esp on cut edges. You should be able to seal the gaps with silicone fine

Well you could try to get the pieces fitted as close as possible then make sure to vacuum the cracks well every water change if you dont want to drain the tank to do it right , kinda defeats the BB thing tho, cause you know crud will settle in the gaps

Doug1, Ill assume your "if you dont want to do it right" comment was well intentioned.

Does anyone know if any of the puttys used to attached frags are pliable enough to fill the gaps. Ideally I would like to find something with the consistency of weather stripping. If anyone knows of a product that is non-toxic and can be pressed into the gaps, please let me know.
