well been tinkering with my new 29 gallon, planning a 10gallon sump, and WAS going to use a tidepool overflow. i got the overflow for ten bucks from my lfs because he had taken the flextube plumbing out of the box. i figured i would just hard plum it with pvc anyways so i figured it was a steal, especially when they retail around 60bucks.
so i get into it. then i realize that the od of the drain on the overflow is some crazy size that NO pvc fitting will fit tight, then realize that pvc cement is useless on it because it wont stick to the kind of plastic that its made out of. then while pushing on the pipe with moderate pressure the whole bottom of the overflow broke off into about 50 pieces.....
so i really cant complain that im only out ten bucks, but what a chinsey product... guess u get what u pay for. just thought id share my consumer review on tidepool overflows!!! i give it 2 thumbs way down!!!
