(her directions from the ambulance jockeys were WAY wrong! never seen such gridlock .MY way home was a "seeing three cars all the way home" nice. Then i went straight into work (nothing like close to 5 hrs driving yesterday)

Well, the surgeon said I gotta have/need surgery again. Part of it will be to remove unneeded(now) hardware in my back, bone has grown in place as not to need the scaffolding from the first one. Then.... he will bond the vert above the fusion to the top of the already fused section. The top part on the ol stuff looked kinda "unstable" and appeared to not have any or much bone there (what was "grown" there to cover the fusion) and will bond that section to the upper vert.
Same down time off work for me 6-8 months and can sched. it done as early as next week (NOPE) or whenever we want. Problem is, the wife had a CAT scan done the other day, and her Doc saw a small "mass" in her lady parts or wherever. so THAT needs to be addressed first since it has a higher need to be done. Me , i know where i am with my issues, hers needs to be looked at /taken care of first (prob a benign thing, but ya gotta make sure) We both can't be "down" at the same time anyway.

So with all that , my knees/wrists/elbows and other body parts have be screaming the last few days, so much i can barely get out of a chair NICE .

Will prob have mine done inna month or so, so at least i can not have to worry about winter driving to work etc.(plus i will not go bonkers by being unable to do stuff outside if i was recovering in the warmer weather here.)

Well, there it is in a long ,drawn out nutshell.

Hope everyone has a great day!
Wow Jeff!Maybe if you do a frankinstein, with both your bodies, you mite get one good one!

That's a pretty big nutshell, Jeff. Good for you to think of your wife first. Besides being the thoughtful thing to do, you need your personal home nursing service at 100% when you have your back overhaul done. Sorry you're having so much trouble.

After my morning with the surgeon, i went straight into work, and you woulda thought the doc hisself called work and told em everything! My boss took me aside and asked my "plans", like if i was gonna go out for this surgery would i be coming back to work . I said YUP!
He was thinking i'd have the surgery, and then retire (the smart thing to do $$/insure-wise)

After our lil talk, he said, "you gotta go what you feel is the right thing, and the "quality " of life for you". "If you come back and you back/bod is still gonna be a problem , you don't wanna be here" (meant in a caring demeanor)

Told him i'd take it as it comes, and go from there. No promises, just my hopes and plans for the future.
(As much as i'd like to retire, and could most comfortably, that's just not in my plans right now )

Morning, You all are very friendly here. Im a medical student in texas and spend all morning locked in a dark room watching slides. Hows life on the outside? Im looking to get to know everyone a little better. My real name is John, im married and have a 75 gallon freshwater and am working on starting a 30 gallon reef. I also have a beagle who currently has skin issues but hopefully those will go away.

Hope you all have a great day

Good evening, everyone.

Ray - Our Civitan club is a crazy and friendly lot, very much like a certain reef site that I help moderate

Dick - I hope those turkeys don't have a ruckus with the raccoons.

I agree with you, though, in the possible urgency of Blyth's needs. Here's hoping that the mass is benign.

Welcome to TRT, Hoosier!

We think she has a ragweed allergy. We have it somewhat controlled on benardryl but she still tears holes through her skin everyonce and awhile. It got better last year when it got cold here but it doesnt get cold in Texas till decemeber

Thanks for the warm welcome and any hints about my SW tank would be great. Im kinda wandering in the dark.
