I have the RSM and the lighting on it is great. The lighting on the tank is not pc lighting. Its t5 lighting in pc form which is alot different then standard pc lights. I have an acro frag showing new growth at the top of the tank which is probably about the only place you could grow any sps. Besides sps the lighting is great for all other corals.

When I got my 75 I paid $1500 but that included 70lbs LR and a $400 wet dry/skimmer since removed.

Now in just equipment heres what I have

75 w/ stank and canopy $350
30g tank for sump $30
2x250w MH retro $400 (I didn't skimp here, you can probally find one for $300ish
Octopus NW-200 skimmer $200
$980 total

If you use ebay and buy used or use your discount It can probally be done for $750 +LR/live stock

I honestly LOVE the size of my 65. The footprint is the same as a 75 but a foot less from the length. If you are at all handy, building a stand isn't so bad; check my build thread. You are only around two hours from me. I would be willing to help you build a stand/hood one weekend. If you figure the tank costs about $125 (less with your discount?), the stand/hood is around $50 in wood and maybe $20 in paint, four T5s with icecap ballasts will run you around $300, the same as a pair of 250w DIY metal halides... that puts us at $495 (roughly.) Find yourself some nice used equiptment like pumps and a skimmer and you would have a nice little tank!
The only downside is that even if you matched the price with a larger tank, a larger tank is still a lot more expensive to stock.
