Thinking of adding a clown

heres the deal...ive got a false perc hosted by a large condi....ive had for a couple years. The clown is fat and pretty large for a false i think.....almost 3" i would guess.

How would i go about sexing it or adding a mate???

Is it as simple as throwing in a new smaller false perc??

I considered getting rid of them a few months ago as I wanted the space the nem took up.....but Im REALLY glad i didnt as the pair was one of the few survivors of my recent crash. The nem is also very well behaved......hasnt moved once in the 11 months its been in the 225.

Fly I had a large clown and thats all I did was go out and buy a smaller one. The big one picked on the little one for a little while then LOVE.
Good Luck

False percs are usually really easy to pair up even if yours has been in the tank for a while. Most likely its a female since its been alone in your tank for over a year. I wouldnt go too small of a addition or it might get picked on a little too much. My sebae has never moved the only moving has been from 3 different tanks over the past 7 years.

They are born hermaphaditic, so if you got a small one (say 1" or so), the larger one (well, more dominant) would become a female if it already isnt. As patrick mentioned, it's pretty easy to get them to pair up, but they may not always breed, just be good buddies.
