Thinking about adding a second Skimmer...
What do you guys think about this one? I have a 29G with only a hanging wet/dry (which I plan to convert into a sump with only macroalgae). The hanging wet/dry has a small skimmer, but I think if I'm going to rotate out the bio balls like I plan to, I should add a second (and hopefully much better) skimmer.
Another idea I had was do use this with a hanging Phosban Reactor in-line so basically it would pump from the tank through one, into the other, and back into the tank.
Thoughts?

i can't comment on the skimmer, no idea.
but one thing to keep in mind with regards to the phosban reactor is : keep the flow low or you'll blow the media right into your tank

I can't comment on that skimmer, but there are plenty of people with coralife super skimmers that are very happy with them, so for that reason alone I would buy one of those over the typhoon.

Any recommendations for what pump I might use for the Phosban Reactor?

MJ400 or 600, but you will need to turn down the flow with the supplied ball valve.

Don't do phosban, look at the remora skimmers, i have run an aqua c and it works awsome as a great plug 'n play unit.
the iron from phosban and rowaphos can cause problems. if you get a good skimmer than you don't need the phosphate reactor anyways.

I've got phosphate issues, off the scale. It's been a FO tank for years running a wet/dry filter. Do you think the Remora skimmer will clean up the existing Phosphates?

With a tank that small just do some water changes. If you have substrate and/or live rock than they are going to be holding and releasing those phosphates that have been in your water for a long time. If that is the case you will need to replace your substrate and 'cook' your live rock.

BTW, I also wouldn't 'add' another skimmer. I'd just get one good one. No reason to have twice the hassle and maintenance.

Ditto on every point here. I too have had an Aqua C great skimmer.

problem with two skimmers is...some people have a hard enough time dialing ONE in correctly.
If you have two...tinkering with the settin on one, will set the other off, and vice versa. So dialing them BOTH in will be a MAJOR PIA.
just my thoughts.
I'd opt to get one really good skimmer, instead. Save up if need be. Better to drop $300 on a kick a@@ skimmer, then drop $150 on another half-a@@ skimmer (not pointing at any of the skimmers you've mentioned...just saying in general).

So it looks like the Aqua C is the way to go. I assume that a standard Remora will be good enough for a 29G, or should I go with a Remora Pro? I see that they have a couple of options, collection cup drain, and surface prefilter box.
Has anyone who's had a Remora had experience with either of these? Also, would it be possible to go with a pro, and somehow split up the return to different outtakes so as to not shoot a ton of flow in one direction? It appears from the pictures of the skimmer, that it just has a normal overflow kind of like the old school "back" filters.

The Mag pump w/ the PRO is much better but the MJ will be fine for a 29. Get the pre filter box.
Only get the drain installed if you plan to run the skimmate to a jug. I would just empty the cup once or twice a week instead. It shouln't fill that fast on a 29G tank

The way I have my existing skimmer tuned, it usually fills the cup 1-2 times a day.
Does the Remora have a large skimmer cup? I was kind of thinking that it would be nice for when we go away on vacations, that I could just hook up a hose into a bucket.
