Alright, brainiacs, the tank is doing pretty well and the lighted sump seems to be doing the job for the frags. I havent tested my water in a while, but everything appears to be in order. I don't think I mentioned it, but my kalk reactor sprung a leak, so it's been offline for a couple weeks now. All in all, things are status quo, but I've a question...
Coralline algae has exploded in my sump, which is no surprise, but what's the best way to a) remove it easily, and b) prevent it? I've thought of trying to shade some of the sump with the coroplast that I've got left over (thin black plastic material), any other great ideas?

IME, reducing the light will kill the coraline. I never had it in my sump until I tried a light down there....in fact, my coraline dies off on the bottom-side of rocks.

Obviously, but the whole point of the new sump and light is to grow frags, so the recommendation to turn the light off is not a solution.

Is that a big deal? I thought of getting a tuxedo urchin, and I didnt think they could do that much harm. Others have different experience?
