I was teasing, you'd be welcome to anything in the tank. Zoanuts had a bunch of LPS that they posted yesterday... but they're well out of my price range. When you hit the NYtimes bestseller list, maybe you can get one for me.

Looks spectacular Chris!!!!

If you don't mind,.. could I get a quick rundown on how much you feed, what you feed, and how much you get from your skimmer every week?

Thanks,
Whiskey

No, because I'm embarassed...

Actually, that's not really true. I feed once a day (well, probably closer to 5-6 times a week), either a single frozen cube of mysis, or a healthy sized pinch of Ocean Nutrition Forumula 1 or Formula 2, or a good pinch of freeze dried krill.

My skimmer will produce a good nasty paste. If I'm paying enough attention to adjust it every couple days, it'll fill up a dark liquid in a week or so (and there's a pretty good size collection cup). If I don't, I'm more likely to get the riser tube completely covered in goop about 1/8-1/4" thick, with a bit of collected matter in the cup, after which I clean 2-3 times a month.

Do you have an updated fish list somewhere? I remember you buying allot of fish but I can't remember what you ended up with.

Whiskey
I did get a bunch of fish, but many of them didnt make it (kole and naso tang, in particular). I dunno why. Terrible caregiver? Here's what I've had for the last 5 months or so.

Foxface (6")
Mimic Tang (3")
Flame Hawk (2")
Springer's Dottyback (2")
Green Chromis (1.5")
Zebra Jawfish (2.5")
Neon Goby (.75")
Pair of Ocellaris Clowns (1.5" and 1")

And I have a copperband butterfly (2.5") that I've had for about 3 weeks... not sure if it's going to pull through. I still haven't witnessed it eat anything. So that's 10 fish, but 8 of them are under about 3" big, so it's a pretty light bio-load for the size of tank.

So I was at the LFS today, and they had a couple of tangs that were shipped to them as tominis. But clearly, they were not. It took a little research, but I'm pretty sure they were Ctenochaetus cyanocheilus, or the blue-lipped bristletooth tang. I found very few decent pictures, but this link sold me. Having never seen one, but always wanting a species from this genus of fish, I grabbed it. It doesnt look anything like this right now, I'll get some pictures later.

Did they get a lot of good stuff today? Minh sold me a brown powder (the one that disappeared) and was billed for a white cheek. Lets see him!!

They got a bunch of zoanthids, but this fish had been around for like 3-4 weeks. They had two of them, and this one was the more aggressive of the two. Here are a couple of pictures that turned out well enough.

Absolutely great looking fish! I probably saw him the other day, but I didn't really pay attention since I was bulb shopping.

Thanks, guys!

I just did a water change, and I decided to sell a bunch of frags and corals. The bali slimer up front is waaayyy too close to the front glass, so I offered it up to the locals in the club. Maybe I can make some money this week to justify some sort of outlandish purchase.

Alright, I just tested the water for the first time in 2 months. I don't usually mean to go so long between tests, but sometimes I'm pretty lazy. The numbers;

Alk - 7.0 dkh
Calc - 350 ppm
Mag - 1230 ppm
Nitrate and phosphate were undetectable.

Bottom line, nothing really moved, so I'm pleased that things are in good shape. Though by no means can I let my guard down... now's when something can go wrong!
