Ok...by now you guys know that I am clueless so I have no idea how this works but I've fixed pics in several posts this way.

Right click on the "X" and hit properties. Copy and paste that URL to your browser nav bar, then open the pic. Then edit your post, deleting the old image and inserting the new, even though the URL is the same. I have no idea if that actually makes it work or if it's my equivalent of computer voodoo

Alice

LOL on Spanky and electricity

Doh! Mike posted two more while I was posting. You try the voodoo that you do so well

Hey Jerel a couple of things on the Manifold scenerio. Be leary of the check valves, every one I have taked to has steered me away from them as they wiil cloog open after a couple of weeks unless you take them apart and clean them constantly. Anyway to get a syphon break without using a check valve i placed the manifold just above the top of the tank and then came into the tank with Loclines attached to to a ball valve. I'll put a diagram up so you can check it out. Also make sure you use 1 1/2 allthe way up to the outlet for the water, if you dont you ckill the head pressure alot.

Mike

Good Morning!

Spanky and electricity and water - Ha, no problem!

Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz z

Mike, let's see if I can describe this.

pump to manifold - 1 1/2"

manifold all 2" T's and 90's

Spears ball valves 2"

reduced from ball valves to 1" returns to tank because 2 returns will work at the same time.

Tom Senior and I figured with head loss, I would get around 2000gph. By going with 2" for the manifold, it would be about the same as 1 1/2" sweeps.

Oh, I use the clear Spears flapper type check valves and have never had a problem with them. You might want to check them out.

For those of you who use yahoo to post your pics, make sure that you are not linking us to your briefcase. (bc will appear in the link) Use the url that we would see if we were a person from the outside looking at your pics. It might be something like http://pics.yahoo.com/user/mojo/reef/bigtank.jpg

HTH... FWIW, the link in the IMG tag must end in .jpg or.gif or .bmp to show up. Here's what you've linked to: http://us.f1.yahoofs.com/users/5edb9...7mml8A8eaRp7ti

Well the tank wont come until monday now, that should take care of any help I had lined up. The plan now is to empty the 180 on sunday and put the new one in on Monday. I put together as much of the plumbing as I can to save the work on Monday.

Here are the manifolds

And here is some of the water getting made. Its always good to make the water and to let it sit for a day.
