Hi Beal, Toms & 4rd!! Thanks for your praise!! I've been really lucky - both to get the tank and to have the time to maintain it!

4rd, Thanks too for the link and suggestion! I've got a ladder, one of the tall kind. I have to stand on the third step up before I can get into the tank, up to my elbows. One of the things that makes it hard is that it's got about a 7" lip at the top. I've heard they know how to make tanks with narrower lips, now. How big is your tank? Sounds like about 160 Gal?

Your right on the money, it's 160. I have longer arms, so I thought maintenance would not be a problem. The lip at the top is about 4". The problem is that I have a diy canopy, so in order to get anywhere near the bottom 1/2 of the tank requires me to remove tha canopy, and thats a 2 man operation.

Oops - on the canopy problem. I thought I had it bad because maintainance involves lifting one side, then the other about 5 times each. Have you seen those rail systems? Maybe that would work for you?
Doh! I'm trying to remember the name of your rooster av? Is it Foghorn Leghorn or something like that?

Hah! You guys are great!!
"Kill the wabbit" is one of my personal favs of all time! Yosemite Sam is, too!

Nah, Perry - I know cartoon characters from way, way before my time, so that's no help! (But, I admit, I'm old enough to be some of the TRT member's mom).

Nope, Perry. I think you got me beat when you saw Steamboat Willie debut.

I'm just one of those who watched Looney Tunes on the Television .... in Black and White.....

along with re-runs of Laurel and Hardyand The Three Stooges.
