Thanks for the eye candy TG !!!! Your tank is looking great! I only hope and dream my tank can look that great in the future. I'm upgrading to 250W 10K MH on saturday, and I'm in the process of buying a calcium reactor, Kalk rector is just not keeping up with the tank. I'll send some pics your way after the upgrades.

Thanks, PJ!! Yeah, that's a sweet coral. That one was in awful shape when I bought it. Here's a pic of that coral when I first bought it - I'm the only fool who would buy a coral in such bad shape.

oops - here it is. (I pushed the wrong button). Pretty grim, huh?
Hi Juan, Too cool about the new lights!! Can't wait to see the pics!!! Nah, I don't see my tank that way, but I have been dumb-lucky with all my tanks. When I've made mistakes the tank has been forgiving.

Beautiful! I love walk-around tanks, mostly for the aquascaping. It has to be pretty tough to make a reef look nice from all sides without just cluttering it up. Congrats.

Hi Melix! Thanks!
Yeah, it was sort of stupifying - how much harder it was than a one-sided tank. Part of the difficulty, though, was getting the acros up close enough to the 250W metal halides. Plus, in a regular tank, you can tier the rocks and corals (which looks really good), but I had to have enough space on both sides to get into the tank, so there wasn't enough room to stairstep the rocks down.
A point came (after a year) when it just didn't matter enough to be worth trying to change it (again). Moving rocks with tongs while standing on top of a ladder was exhausting - I kept dinging the acrylic, too, and then had to spend hours trying to buff the scratches out.
We have a 600 lb piano that's not on casters and I've moved that across the house a dozen times - basically a matter of backing up to get a running start then running and throwing my body against the piano which moves it about an inch - repeat until it's where you want it. I'd rather do that any day, than attempt another aquascape refinement on this tank.

Your tank is truly marvelous! Can I scuba dive in your tank?

Thank you, RW124!! Hah! No need to scuba since you can just walk around it. I'm curious about your name; are you worried about your own tank or the world's reefs? It occurs to me that a measure of worry makes a good tank owner, so I'll bet you're a great reefkeeper!
I'm curious, too - if you have a phosphate test kit, I'd love to find out what the phosphate levels are in Morro Bay waters? Catalina has really high phosphate levels, so I wonder if Morro Bay does too.
Also, speaking of worried; I think there must be a limit on the amount of rock that can be adequately blown off in a tank. I know my tank's 400+ lbs must exceed that limit. My rock is the typical highly porous rock and most of the detritus sludge is inside the rocks. Even though I spend a few hours every week trying to blow detritus out of the holes in the rock, I can only reach the outer rocks, of course. Scary to think how much I can't get at - and how much that amount increases over time.

That is Great. I love the three sided display. we are going attempt this soon. You have put the tank together very nicely and is a joy to look at. I thought the aqua scaping looked great.
Congradulations

Beautiful tank!! I love the walk around. I couldnt imagine having to use tongs to place EVERYTHING on the bottom 1/3rd of the tank. Some of those colors on your macro shots are AMAZING.
Congrats

This was one of the first tanks I really liked when I came to TRT and inspired me to get into the hobby even more.
