Maybe we can hook him up with friends and family coupons? The only problem with those is that they aren't always available- just certain weekends. And then he doesn't have to shop at that other hardware store!!

i can not find my chalk line. besides i want your expertise on slopes for that manuever.
OK, todays progress, cleaned up the sump area, moved the power circuit from under the tank to the new sump area. drilled more holes, i think these are in the correct area. painted the back wall finally. have 2 more coats to do at least. i am trying to figure out how to come up with a drawing for Tom. i need a silly scanner. removed all of the old LR off of the front deck (had it drying out while i was gone). i have a good 100#'s of base rock to start aquascaping with. i will do a couple of test pieces with concrete when i really start getting serious.

ahh, but you did not ask how i got them. they are a pair of Acoustat Monitor 4's with the OTL valve sections. i love the sound of tubes. i found them 6 yrs ago on an old auction site. not very used. one was not working, but i figured i could figure it out, wrong. i got it repaired, but still cost me a bit. $350, this was because the transfer that blew could only be bought in pairs. :argh: anywho i go the speaker for only $175. so even with the repair they were a steal. the even better news is that about a yr ago the other speaker blew its transformer. not a problem i will just slap that other one i bought in there and off i went. i had to gurly them up a bit so the boss would let me keep them. they are 3' wide X 5' tall. so they are a bit big. i run these things constantly. lets see today the stereo went on at 10am it is still on (Pink Floyd-Learning to Fly now playing). this is a normal day off for these. during the week i warm them up at 6 when i get home and turn the off when i hit the sack, around 11. i wish i had an hour meter on them. since being home, we have not turned on the TV! just do not watch it when we are home. since the house is one big room the stereo fills the house, so no need to use a boob tube for ambient noise. now, we do love movies, so the projector has been on everyother nite or so. i got the entire muppet show collection for christmas, so we have been watching that.

Yup I know you are an Atlanta native *not born there, but u know what I mean*- wooo hoooo!! Go GT!!! So lets support the hometown hardware store!! ha... I will try to find out about the home depot coupons if interested and I can mail them to you. They are normally for 10% off and only valid on a certain weekend. Also if you have the HD credit card, they will send you coupons for that too. I will keep my eyes peeled.
Enjoy the aquarium and being the guide!!

Gwen, I know all about the HD promos and cards and coupons and stuff. Kinda got a bit of involvment there! I just wish they gave an employee discount, that would serve me better than the stock options at this point!!

Go to the store and have them check the portal for current or upcoming events. The staff dont always know the skinny on sales and such. (depends on Management) There is a big push to rid of the flooring they overstocked us with and could be some good events in the works. Just make sure if you do it its paid before the event ends as there can be issues with the discounts falling out of the computer (wouldnt effect you, just the store) Also check on the subs they use for installs, check to see if they are worth a **** if you go with them.

I did get 20% off for X-mas. My wet room stuff cost me about $200 after the discount and all the other stuff we bought.

HD is fine for most stuff, but for some reason the HD's here do not carry the selection of PVC fittings that the blue store does. of course since i am just getting the normal stuff now any coupon would work. i will scour the HD site and see if i can find something. i just gotta get all of that pipe by Saturday.

great thing about both Home Imp. boxes is that you can return stuff you didn't use.
