the poisoning did not affect the fish at all. they are all doing fine.

it is the corals that suffered. the ones in the light withered away and some of the finally bleached and died. those in the darker parts did ok, just horrible growth rates. the clam did not seem to mind the Fe at all either.

things are starting to colour up again.

just some pics from the tank. things are starting to get going after now that the RO/DI is going great!

the clams never had a problem with the Fe.

here is my Squammie. i like the dotted ones.

here is my Crocea.

a purple Gorgonia

a nice light coloured acro.

a dark thick branching acro. i like different textures in my tank.

my growing birdsnest. i also have a pink one, but did not get a pic, sorry.

All I can say is....my wife thinks I spent to much money and time on my tank. You are on a whole different level.

i have yet to be able to take a decent shot of my tank. not sure how to take a pic of a 6' tank and make it look reasonable.

i do not spend much time on the tank. maybe 15min a day, not including just looking at it. emptying the skimmer cup. hopefully that will soon be a chore of the past. feeding is also super easy. just dump a cube into the return pump and about 2min later it shows up in the tank. my wife would kill me if i spent more time on the tank. actually i spend a lot more time on TRT than i do on my tank.

i am also not as spendy as you think. if you notice i have not been updating the thread that much. that is because i have not had any money to do anything. the birdsnest and the gorgonia where frags from a fellow reefer. i have had the squammie for several months now. the crocea and the two acros i just got yesterday. it really helps to have a great supplier just down the road.

i am not in the same league as Casey, Fly Guy, and wharyat.

sorry for such a long time between updates. i have just been busy and the tank is pretty much on auto pilot. i still do plan on putting in the 30g settling tank. still trying to figure out how i am going to shoe horn it in there, but it will go in there.

just got a large shipment of fish in this past week.

current stocking as of today:
3 barred flagtails
2 Japanese swallowtail angels
1 bicolour blenny
1 midas blenny
1 clown tang
1 goldrim tang
2 blue-jaw triggers
1 purple firefish
1 firefish
1 blue fairy wrasse
1 redfin wrasse

7 clams
1 squammie
1 crocea
1 derasa
4 maxima's

plenty of banded trochus, they are breeding in the tank. they have stopped for the year, the temp is on a yearly cycle and the tank is now on its winter schedule. i have a few accidental hermits still, but luckily they are all dieing away.

i am trying a crinoid. we will see how that goes. i feed at least 3 times a day. twice with the lights off when it is open. once during the day for those few fish that are not out during the other feedings.

i did switch out the ampmaster 2100 wet end for the Ampmaster 3700 wet end. not a chance of anything settling out under those LR mounds now.

here is a FTS of the tank now:

all of that goo streaming from the bottom is from oozing red bubble algae. the recently added clown and goldrim tangs are picking at all of them and causing them to burst. nothing i can do about it. glad something is eating them!! the bubble algae is the only algae in the tank. it is also the only problem i have had with the system. not sure if that is really a problem, but it sure is an annoyance.

if there is anything you want a picture of let me know i will try my best.

any questions?

thanks for looking,

G~

hard to tell. i have gotten a lot of frags from people, so they could have come from anybody. i thought i checked all of the incoming pieces well, but apparantly not.

i will see if i can get a pic of just the FSB. i will try and get one of the FSB underneath the mount and one of it out in the open.

i really like the stability that it provides. my aquascaping is not going anywhere.

hey geoff, how is your coast to coast overflow attached to the tank? just with the bulkheads going through it and the glass? or is it sillyconed? also are your bulkheads towards the top of the overflow or towards the bottom of it?
