Well, it's called theoretical for a reason. The math can easily and logically be adjusted to fit either circumstance.

Like I said before, if/when the graviton is found, that will answer the question.

Right on.

If I didn't have to pay for my addiction I would like to go to school for it myself.

I am still waiting for Mr. Wyatt to chime in here with his rebuttal.

Michell, John (1724 - 1793)

English physicist, geologist, and Father of Seismology. Michell invented the torsion balance. He set up the first laboratory experiment to accurately measure the force of gravitation. Michell made contributions to Astronomy. He also demonstrated radiation pressure by the deflection of a thin suspended copper sheet on which light was shown. He wrote a "Treatise of Artificial Magnets" in 1750.

John Wheeler, perhaps the most distinguished evangelist for information theory, coined the phrase 'It from bit' to describe the idea. And if that seems like an absurdly glib phrase for such a potentially revolutionary and counter-intuitive piece of physics, it's worth remembering that Wheeler also coined the phrase 'black hole'.

One more bad day, then Starbux Sumatra coffee and toasted (with "Happy Cow" butter) blueberry bagels with strawberry cream cheeese and a morning of abandon in deep thought about the speed of gravity as a particle-less phenomenon, and a few aberrant thoughts about the process as a faster-than-light possibility...

Looks Like I will have the house to myself!

Yes, but he was talking about the ones that Buggs Bunny and Daffy Duck would pick up and carry off...

...the only problem with that theory is that is has a hole in it...

What happens if the Sun suddenly vanishes?
The problem with that illustration is this: shouldnt the planet keep revolving around the Sun until the change in space/time (which the flat area expanding from the center is) reaches it? In otherwords, if the Sun suddenly vanished this instant, we wouldnt know anything for 8 minutes, then everything would go dark, and we would fly off into space.

Nothing travels faster than light, except of course whatever it is that travels between entangled particles.
