I can't beleive you got all that plumbing done in one day. You must not have had enough guiness.

Heh, that mauve/purple paint looks good all the way down to the top of the mantle now!
I especially liked the framed artwork in the bathroom! Ya know, that one of the heron would look relly good at the Walnut Grove Seaquarium, maybe we can do a traveling art loan program...
What did you finally decide to do about the last few feet and the sump placement?

we did not do all of the pipe you saw. i actually returned a vast majority of it. they talked me into putting the two Velocity pumps on a shelf behind the tank. should be high enough that it will be easy to adjust. so there went 100' right there. also the fact that we did not run the ampmaster piping all the way either. that saved another 100'. needless to say i returned a lot of piping and fittings. i returned nearly $350!! the returns clerk was slightly annoyed, but not to bad. of course i then had to go and buy some more PVC in order work the new plan.
Tom- i still have not figured out what i am going to do there at the end. i want to get some measurements for different rubbermaid sumps. see which ones fit best where. i am still not ruling out either the shelf or the water heater room. each has thier advantages. i like the shelf because then i can keep salt and other big aquarium supplies in there. i like the water heater closet because it is on the ground and a bit easier to clean. really tough call. i did install those clean outs on the ends after you left.
i really appreciate your help, Tom and Zac!!
sorry, the Blue Heron print can only be housed in rooms that are purple.

We need more PIX!
btw, I've thought a lot about the room and the set up down there, I'll call about an alternative with the water heater (but it is labor-intensive)

i am sure he will up again. i may need him to help me figure out exactly how to do a template for the holes on the tank. besides i think Tom was a little disappointed that we did not have enough time to crash Chad's place.
Tom- wait till you see the pic of how i have to arrange the Velocities up above in order to fit. i am sure i will get style points for this.
i am looking for finding one of the Rubbermaid 50g sumps right now. it would fit very nicely on the shelf, really cramped in with the water heater.

Don't know the answer to the PVC sheeting question, but wanted to comment on the pictures...they are worth a thousand words; that crawl space is huge! Had no idea compared with the original ledge pic. Wish I understood more of the technical stuff, but I gotta tell ya, its still enjoyable to read and see!

Geoff, I have two of the 50G sumps that are already plumbed with bulkheads, maybe we can work a swap (as I need a 100G sump...)
...and I have an idea for the water heater, thinking in terms of access for the things you need access to (like the sump(s)), and placing other items in areas that you may never need to see...
I had a great drive home. Made really good time, cut the drive time to 3H 20', including a stop for gas in Charlotte (ever notice that you don't see any gas stations along the I-85 corridor thru Charlotte? )

...BTW, what are you needing the PVC for? If you just need a small piece, I'd bet you can go to somebody local to you like Piedmont Plastics and ask for a scrap from one of their projects:
