The GF effect.
Well first I have to wash my hands of this. I went with my gf to a LFS that I have never been to. She wanted to pick out a fish of her own for the 90g tank. The problem is she has bad taste. The fish she likes are either not reef safe, mean, or not hardy. The one she settled on was a copperband butterfly. The lady feed the tank mysis and this copperband ate like a pig. She asked if she could get it and I said its up to you. So anyway the copperband has been in the tank for over a day now with no issues. We will see. I will get a pic up today

I love the way CBBs look, though they can be a pain to keep alive. The first fish I killed in the dark ages (undergravel and dead skeletons) was a cbb. What a pity.
I hope you have good luck with it.

Hopefully the Copper Band will be OK, but as the tank owner, you really need to be firm and not give in when she makes bad choices
There are a lot of fish in the trade that probably shouldn't be, as well as a lot that have fairly specific needs, both dietery and environmental that need to be addressed. As responsible reef keepers we need to make educated choices based on whether we can provide for a specific animals need, not for the Ooh or cool factor, or cause she wants it, tho I will grant that the GF effect can be a difficult one to get around at times.

Yep, they do.
I bought one some time ago to take care of a major apista outbreak in my 180G tank, and he eats misys and is still alive today. I think with fish like this the most important thing is tank size and natural food for them. Good luck to you! It is not an impossible fish to keep.

this is my thought. this is not a morish idol and not a bad choice. There are different opinions of this fish but lets not go so far as to call it irresponsible.

Reef master,
I am certain that the quote above was to encourage you on your GF chances with the fish, not meant as a chastisment.
Whiskey was sharing his success with a cobberbanded butterfly to encourage you.
