Well if you have no room for a sump, where would you put the ES60? I know that a few people report using and loving them but you can replicate it yourself for a lot less.
On the other hand there are ways to keep a reef that don't involve bioballs to feed the
macro algae that crashes dumping all the locked up nutrients back in the tank, or require a bunch of Fe rich mud to grow said algae.
If I rebuild my reef it will be setup high flow, no sand and a BIG skimmer, low fish load. I want the bad stuff out now
