The Big Change.

Well, it's done, I am now the owner of a 20g SW tank, and a 75g FW tank. I went down to the river and got some rock and gravely sand (is this a real thing?) and the FW looks awesome. for the SW tank, I have the crappy HOB filter, a PH for flow, the LR and some of the live sand from the 75. I used about a gallon of water from the old tank, the rest is new distilled water from wally world. Now I just need a protein skimmer for a 20, and about 10 more lbs of Lr. The lighting is NO, and the bulb is about 15 years old, It came with the tank when I bought the tank for my girlfriend (now wife) when she was in High School. That is the first thing I need to address, BUT... All the inhabitants seem much happier, and best of all, no more green water! I plan on doing 10% water changes weekly until I get a skimmer, so that shouldn't be a problem. If I get a new camera in time, I will post pictures of both, but since mine took a dump, it will have to wait

My Jack Dempsey has tons of room, and the only bad thing is that he is so big and territorial, I can't put anything else in the tank, He even killed a Pleco, and they are supposed to leave bottom feaders alone, ( from the beginning, he was picking up gravel from the bottom and trying to bury the pleco.) so He is very happy, and once I upgrade lights, the SW tank will be happy as well.

The only thing I can say is.......
Holy Crap, what a ton of work!!! At least it's done now,
BTW, I am typing on my wife's "Ergonomic" piece of crap keyboard, so all typo's are not completely my fault, just some.

I have to agree with TIMS.

Followed ya' from the beginning, and I'm really sorry things worked out this way. But I am relieved (no where NEAR as much as you) that it's all over now, and hopefully you get to start "enjoying" the tank(s)!!! (instead of worrying about them).

Congrats!

It is a bummer that I had to do it, but at least I can see the contents of my SW tank now, and getting the 20 set up completely will cost a couple hundred more, as opposed to 500 more for live rock alone in the 75g. I found PC lighting for 75 bucks, I only need about 10 more #'s of LR for the tank, and I will be set. when I get the rock and the skimmer, I am going to convert my hob filter to a fuge, but as for now, I just need to stick to 10% water changes weekly (not near as expensive as the 10% weekly changes on the 75.)
