I don't if there is some form of glitch in the TRT software, just an interesting fact (1969???)
Anyway, just converted over to satellite today, all I can say is WOW what a difference from dialup! (and going back to Microsoft IE from AOL's browser, I might dig out my Mozilla next.)
To stay on GRD forum topic/info, I might point out how to AVOID a terrible accident in your tanks: NEVER USE THOSE ARTIFICIAL ICE BAGS THAT CONTAIN FROZEN ANTIFREEZE DIRECTLY IN THE TANK WITHOUT USING SOME SORT OF PROTECTIVE BAG (or two). Having just gone through a number of coral specimens with the pump failure just prior to the Spring picnic, I had some new specimens from Chad in an isolation tank that were being treated prophylactically for red acropora mites with milbemycin. The tank had a fan to keep temps down by turning the fan on with the lights, but through a series of mistakes, this did not happen last week, and the temps got up to 87 in the quarantine tank about midday the first day I had off. Upon discovering this I immediately dropped several of these freezer "bags" into the tank, only to discover the next day when they melted to liquid form inside the wrapper that several of these freezer bags had holes in them...
...I OWE Tony some money, as his were still in the tank with mine. Not all are dead, but several specimens dropped all the tissue, and several look rough still. I had already lost the little Fromia seastar within a day of two of the drive home due to apparent issues prior to getting here with salinity changes, but this accidental toxic attack for the corals is just going to limit my acquisitions for a while. This many specimen losses in such a short period of time is starting to wear on my enthusiasm for the hobby. I think I will get the new prop system running, make some big changes in some husbandry schedules, and let the tanks run with low coral pops for a while, spend some track time with the bimmer in a few weekends and take a break from being quite so intense with the corals.
Not looking for sympathy, just don't want anyone else to make some of the same stupid mistakes I have made over the last two months.

yeah, tonight I'm back on dialup[ till they get me a new modem, but I downloaded the new 8.1 adobe reader in about 4 minutes prior to the modem going bad.
Thanks for all the PM's and notes, not to worry, I am not out of the hobby, just going to step back a bit for a while, I dropped a CHUNK of cash at Chad's only to lose most of it.
Worst thing is that I still have not told Tony yet (but I'd bet he knows now... ), At least most of his made it...

Dang, Tom! Sure hate that happened. Good warning to others about floating those store-bought freezer blocks!

We won't tell him 'til you're ready to break the news.
Hang in there, buddy.

Thanks for the backup, Dick, I have a few specimens that will do well in your tank (and don't need a bunch of calcium or alkalinity)...
