tests...will this be enough

Well, it's confession time. I have had my tank up and running for a year and a half or so. I had test strips at one time but not for quite a while. I'm upgrading to a 75 and would like to start testing like I should. I will have just a few fish (large bossy false perc which was a b'day gift and is why I won't have many fish, blue damsel - my first fish purchase which I regret but he stands up to the clown so that's good) With the move, I hope to purchase a few more fish and inverts to move in with the clown at the same time hoping they can then live in peace. I also have some mushrooms, zoo's and pulsing zenia. What test kits are a must have and what can I wait with till next time. My thoughts were to purchase Salifert brand PH, Nitrate, Ca, & Alk. The other brand kits sure are tempting for cost reasons but from what I've read here, salifert is the way to go. Also, I use coralife salt because it's the only thing I have in my small town. I'm thinking of switching to Reef Crystals with this new tank. Will that make it harder on my critters than the move already will be on them? Any special considerations I should make?

Now, to look for a good thread on how to make the move. Right now we're getting the plumbing all hooked up and ready to fill 'er up with water and check for leaks.

for pH i would get a monitor and not a kit. pH changes over the course of the day so a single reading is not very helpfull.

nitrate is not important. i would worry more about ammonia and nitrite, and even them i would so so on them. pretty much as long as nitrite and ammonia are 0 you are good to go. nitrates are not a problem, they are not nearly as toxic as everyone says they are.

Ca, alk and Mg are a must if stony corals are to be kept. if not then they are not really important. regular water changes will keep these levels in check.
