Temperment differences Coral Beauty vs. Flame Angel

Need help deciding. Are there any temperment or hardiness differences between the Flame and the Coral Beauty? Is one mellower or less aggressive than the other. Input please

I think the coral beauty is more mellow. A lot of that depends on your tank dynamics. The flame is prettier though.

We have had one of each at different times and lost them due unknown reasons. The Beauty would let the cleaner shrimp clean it all the time (thought they had something going on for awhile); the Flame wouldn’t have anything to do with the cleaner shrimp. Other than that, they were cool fish. Both of them put the very mean Damsel in its place, and didn’t bother the Clowns or the Flame Hawkfish at all.

My flame has a little bit more "attitude" than the coral beauty had, but if you looked that good, you'd have an attitude too

They are very similar fish. The flame I had was a little more aggressive.

I have heard the beauties are difficult. True? I was thinking of a flame angel. I have been doing alot of thinking.

I could be wrong but ive always thought the flam was more difficult. From what Ive read the flam needs an established tank where the coral can be added really soon after the tank has cycled. Like I said thats just my understanding. Ive had both and like the way the flame looks but the coral beauty has an suddle attractiveness as well.

I've had my coral beauty for 3 months and am very happy with it. It chums with the yellow tang, they pick away at the rock and sand together. It will not take any abuse from my other fish. I have not had a flame angel so I cannot compare.

I had both of them in the same tank for a little bit and the flame was beating up the coral beauty. So i would say that the flame is a little more aggresive

I've hard a few beauties and they would not eat flake or most stuff I fed the fish. They seemed to get by grazing fine, but I have like 200lbs LR.

I have a cool and big Flame, and very active purple and blue tangs...No problem, didn't knew they could get that big, but what a beauty and she leaves the clams alone...

Love that fish...

I have had my Flame for almost 2 years and I must say it's very active through the reef, not the mention the cleaner shimpy and Red just love each other, there always snuggling.
