Temp... whats a good heater to get?

Need to get a heater for a 75 gal tank . Also can i just put it in the sump? Im haveing a few degree shift from the day to night temps. I keep the tank in a back bedroom with the ac on constantly because it so freaking hot latlely. With out the ac on the temp was hitting 80+ Now, Ive noticed temps as low as 75 to about 79 I pretty sure thats still to much of a shift? No corals in tank yet.

Yes you can put them in the sump... I prefer one on a controller. Do you have a AC Jr or anything? A ranco controller is not horrably expensive. Otherwise people prefer non-glass heaters, but I've been running visitherm glass heaters on a controller for about 7 years now and all of them still work perfect... Not sure whether the internals work right, but the controller turns them on and off when they are needed

I agree with the controller. I have a ranco controller for my heater. I just dont trust those cheap thermostats in the heater itself.

Neptune controller. The Ac Jr is the baby of their line and worth 10 times what they charge for it You can get the AC Jr w/ dc8, pH probe and temp controler for a really good price

Check out one of the online vendors for details!

I like the Won Titanium heater(analog) ,digital ones had problems. You have a remote sensor. So you can have the heater in the sump and the sensor in the tank.

I have a WON that is about a year old and it has failed. Nice concept but I am not so sure about reliability.

I put 2X150w heaters in my sump rather than one 300w. If a 300 goes haywire your temp can go very high, but if a single 150 does, you wont suffer as much loss.
