temp for weldon?

if its too cold outside, will weldon take longer to set? i started building my sump today, and after i tried my first seam, i waited about 10 minutes and the two parts never bonded. i still have it sitting out there, and im gonna go back and check soon, but i was wonderin what is taking so long, its weldon #4 i wanted to have a little more time for adjustments, but dang.

How do you know ti didnt bond??? Did you move it??? If so......it wont hold water.......

you need to start over......if it moves when it should have been set it didnt work. I highly doubt the temp where you are did it..but out of curiousity how cold was it?? It will take longer to completely cure in colder weather but if it was 50 or more out it should work fine..again..just taking longer to completely cure. How pure were your edges??? Weldon #4 takes pretty much a perfect fit.

im cutting with a nice router, its leaving a pretty great edge on it, not factory, but close. smooth to touch. id did shift a little, it might not hold water. but i was told it if holds in strength, then running a bead of 16 in the seam after will help get it water tight. and i plan to do it. i have shots check my build thread in a minute. its probably below 50 right now. not sure exactly the temp, but chilly. oh and after i posted this, i went and checked again. it did bond. just took longer than i though. might of put more in than i should have. guess we will see.

moving it isnt good but what you heard is correct about the weld on #16 afterwards. Another little trick on that note being as it is just a sump is to cut a super thin piece of acrylic then immediately after running your bead of #16 next to the edge shove that super thin piece of acrylic tight up along the edge. it wont leak then for sure

not sure if i can cut like that, its hard enough the way im doing it. but thanks for the tip. ill see what i can do. also, i forgot to mention, im trying to build it with only glueing factory edges together on the bottom, should make a much better bond.
