Tearing down the 10Gal
Hey guys, i decided to take down my little 10 gal for now. It is not that old but I want to focus more on my 55Gal right now, maybe one day ill set it up again.
my question is how do i go about this? i want to put all my sand and rock in my 55gal and then my live stock. the tanks went up pretty much at the same time and they are both cycled. the rock is squared away and both tanks got a water change a couple of days ago.
how do i do this and keep all my stuff safe?
tanks specs as follows:
15lbs LS
10lbs LR
small false perc
watchman goby
green ricordea frag

fish and coral are easy i would just drip them into the new tank those are fairly hardy fish. the LS personally i wouldnt add more LS on already set sand bed. the LR if your worried about die off or anything i would cook for a couple weeks if not i would do a fresh RO wash and put in the 55

why the fresh dip? the rock is fine, it even has some small corals on it.
i thought i would only need to dip the rock if it was old from another tank?

you dont have to i just dont like to mix LR between tanks b.c i dont know what critters or "issues" might come with the rock a fresh RO dip kinda clears the slate and adds alittle relief for me

aaaah i see. well the live rock all came from the same place and got cured all together so whatever is in one tank is in the other already.

I think you should be fine with the rock, maybe an RO dip for good measure but you know what is in the rock and have seen what critters are on it so you should be fine. The sand you might want to just toss to avoid a little stir up cycle. I dont think it would do too much though.

Definitely nothing to worry about, just move the stuff over. Take lots of pictures and post them in the new thread.
