Tank Vacuum setups

I realize probably the most common way is siphoning. But when it comes to the sump, it's too low to siphon. Besides that I'm just wondering what are the easiest ways and setups people have found for vacuuming SB's and sumps. Anyone using shop vacs or something similar?

Yep, that's what I do Whatever! I use a python no spill drain and fill, you hook it to your sink, turn the sink on and it sucks the water out of your sump. In my BB sump I do this weekly to syphon out detritus. It's cheap and really effective.

I take my six horse shop vac and suck the sump dry on my little sump, suck it down about 1/3 of the way in my big sump in couple of minutes.....

two birds with one stone. detritus siphon(or i should say detritus SUCK) and water change all at once.

Im also on my own septic system so i dont want the saltwater down my drain.........i pour it on weeds in my drive way......

That's why we want pics STRICTLY LIMITED to the tank and it's contents.
