Tank Temp 82.1 Degrees

I still have my rock cycling. The tank temp is staying around 81.9 to 82 degrees. I did have the glass top on with the canopy. I took the glass tops off and Im going to see how that disapates the heat. The canopy has an open back so there is ok air flow. I will put a little 6 inch fan in there if it doesn't drop. Don't most of you guys have open tops? Im planing on keeping tangs and clowns. Not sure what else but are these guys ok with open tops?

You should be fine with tangs and clowns,They're not known to be jumpers. Gobies, blennies, and jawfish are the main "jumpers" There are several others also.Do some research before you buy any fish and you'll be fine. Alot of people will use eggcrate to cover their tank. This allows it to breath while keeping fish in the tank.

I had to ditch my cover and it helped a lot..about five degrees. Now I want a goby though and it is time to put some eggcrate in.

A fan blowing across your tank will cool it tons via evaporation but have a lot of replacement distilled water ready.

79.7

Just by removing the glass tops and leaving on the canopy I have gotten the tank down to 79.7 In the summer time I will put a fan across the top and it could keep it where i need it to be. I have an RO/DI Unit so water is easily available and Im thinking about making a top off unit but not just yet.
