Tank Size?

Do I need a certain size tank to be successful at mating a pair of black perculas? I have 2 in a 10 gal and that is all the room I have right now. Is it possible for them to be happy enough if it is just them and an anemone?

Forgot to add a cleaner shrimp.

I wouldn't recommend an anemone in a such small tank. How old is the tank btw?

Anemone requires room to grow and high quality stable water.. Also small tank tend to have bigger water parameter swings than larger tank.

A 10g tank is very small for 2 percs IMO.

The tank is going on 5 months. I know they tend to swing more that is why I am keeping the stocking low. Just the two fish and an anemone.

I have a 30 gal setup but that is already stocked. That has a ritteri anemone but they get too large for a 10 gal. I think it is going to outgrow my 30. In saying so, I do know the requirements for anemones. I am more concerned about the percs.

getting fish to breed isnt usually the hardest part, if they are a true pair, and they are happy enough, they should spawn easily, but getting the eggs to hatch, and then getting the fry to live are the hardest things.

Ok, my goal is to make them happy enough to pair off and mate. I will worry about the rest when that happens.

I raised a pair of false percs in a 20 L for a year but they didn't mature enough to mate. I lost them to Clownfish disease.

But I lucked uppon another mated pair of f. percs for 40 bucks, and they were mature. The female is huge 5" or so and they have mated and currently have eggs in 37 gal tank. 36"x15".

you shoudl be fine with the ten gallon. you can give them just about anythign to make them happy, a nice PVC pipe would work.
if you look in the breeding area here, i belive there are at least 2 more getting in to or have started breeding clowns

if they are not beating the daylights out of eachother in a 10g than they are happy.
