Tank raised has proven it can survive in a tank. Also the chances of parasites are less. The longer in captivity the better for any sort of recreation of an enviroment in such a tiny scale. Personally when given the option I will go with captive and ignore the price difference. It doesn't seem to be a good plasce to save pennies.
Our tanks no matter how hard we try are not oceans, so to have something that can handel a tank the better.
My other hobby is mantella and dart frogs, and I can assureyou the extra money there for
captive bred is well worth it. Without any direct proof I have assumed the same to be true of fish. Both are VERY dependent on their enviroments, used to complex and threatened enviroments, and being maintianed by people in small little micro habitats (no matter how big our tanks, they are just tanks.)
