Tank picture

Well,, here it is. It's not much for only being three months old.
This is my 350 liter bow front wedge FOWLR. Doesn't look like there is a lot LR in there...That's about 75 lbs worth. have it stacked up in a pinnacle type formation. Which has lots of nooks and crannies for the fish to hide. coralline is growing slowly but surely.

It does look great, really like the aquascaping. Can't wait to see pics of it in a few months...

Hello Tauch,

The setup is looking great. I had a question for you. I have had my system up and running for about 4 months. I have barely gotten past the diatom algae stage. How do you have coralline algae starting to grow? Am I doing something wrong because I barely have any green type algae growing. I use a uv 5 watt light and also my tank lights are only 20watts. I have 1 daylight 20w and 1 actinic 20w.

Tanks Jim

Hooked,

perhaps I should clarify, I didn't mean to imply I was having coralline growing independently. The coralline that came on the LR is spreading slowly....when it starts to grow on the glass I will be really happy. Not sure what algae stage I'm in myself. Between the snails, sea urchin and my blennies They keep the tank pretty clean...

Waiting to install sand-bed I just received the first shipment from pure caribbean....think I'm going to need a little more.
Cheers,
Rob

Rob,
I think it looks awesome very natural aquascaping. Let me know how you like the Pure Caribian arrag. We have a pallet coming this week so I would love any input.
Good Luck!

Who needs inhabitants?? My first tank with LR, I would just sit and stare and think "why not just keep a LR only tank!"

The tank looks great with lots of swimming space, caves, and a sandy bottom! Fish are gonna love it, congrats!

Hooked, I believe the coralline will appreciate a swifter water flow. When I increased the flow rate in my trigger tank I started to get coralline on the glass (of course I didn't want it in that tank). Strong lighting is not necessarily necessary (can you noncommital? ) ? for coralline growth. fwiw

Hey Heaven...I used it in my tank and loved it. Nice color & particle size complimented the thin layer of Natures Ocean LS I swirled (kind of like a struesel cake) on top.

left side shot.

Renae: I have yet to add the sand but, just from looking at it I think it will do the trick....I'm going to need another 80 pounds.

to much space behind the rock work???? let me know what you guys think.
Cheers,
Rob

Looks good! I love those corner tanks. Just leave enough space behind the rock to clean the glass. Looks like a great start!

Looks great!...just keep in mind about having water flow everywhere throughout the tank...sometimes diamonds and other add shaped tanks can create "dead" areas lacking adequate circulation..my 2 cents...or a half cent Canadian!

Looks great, Tauch! I love that bow-front design.

Beach Bum...I know what you mean. I have LR, softies and one fish, and he's been in there with no company, so he's KING!
