Tank Paint Removal

Has anyone remove the paint in the back of the tank and if so, can I do it while it is running with something that is safe and non toxic smelling to the Fish?

if it is a glass tank, just use a razor blade. acrylic could be quite a bit harder. if you can make scratches in the paint than you have a chance. not sure what chemical to use, that will not craze the acrylic or even a mechanical means that would scratch the daylights out of the tank.

just a razor, do it while its running is fine, just make sure shavings dont end up in bad places. sump, tank, your mouth etc.
