Tank Not Level!!!!!

Last night I was toping off my 75gallon and noticed that it was not quite level. There is a difference of a little over 1/2 inch side to side and 3/8 inch from to back with the whole thing tilting slightly forward and to the right. I called Perfecto Mfg. and they said they have done no testing on unlevel tanks but she said that mine did't sound too bad and "SHOULD be fine". What do you all think? It was level when I set it up. there is about 120lbs LR added after filling. I do also have fairly thick carpet padding underneath.

I really dont want to tear it down but will if there is any doubt.

It took me two weeks to get the LR arranged were I want it. lol

No fish yet but there are Mushrooms, buttons, and toadstool that came free in the LR..

Thanks for any help.

I'd get a couple of large trash cans, pump the water out, shem it and pump it right back in.

My guess is that it is not the tank. It is probably the foundation it is set on. Carpeting will definitely effect the tanks level. I think putting a shimmy is not a bad idea.

The problem with shimming is that it will put more stress at the point I shim and this can lead to more problems

If you stick shims in, they should actually relieve stress points unless you stick them in too far. The trick is that you'll have to put them throughout the base of the stand...

But that's the crux of the issue, of course, stress points on the glass. As long as the floor is flat (does not have to be perfectly level), then the weight of the tank will be equally distributed. From what you say there is a consistant slope, so that implies that the floor is flat. I think shims are your best bet to solve the problem if you want something perfectly level, but if it's flat it should be ok (there's that "should" word again!).

I'll provide another option, but ti does involve draining the tank. Put a 1/2 inch piece of styrofoam insulation board (like the stuff they use for siding in homes) under the tank and it will compress some and allow the tank to settle and even out over time. I use this with my tank stands and I know they use that for acrylic tanks. I think it would work for you, HTH.
