Tank lighting

I was told by the LFS that on my tank for keeping star polyps, and other soft coral as well as in the future getting anemonies that VHO lighting would be just fine. Wow I get all kinds of information. Can someone sort it all out?

It seems to me the lighting people choose has more to do with the amount of money you have to spend than anything else. The more it costs the larger the variety of critters you will be able to keep. I'd work out how much you want to spend, then look at the options in that price bracket and ask for opinions.

Hope this helps
