Tank height and T5 lighting?

Hi all,

I'm still in the design phase and was wondering how many inches should a reef tank be if I plan on using T5 lighting?

I will either get a 75 gal or bigger. Looking for something 48" in length, with the width being 20-24". What about the height?

A normal 75gal is 18" in height. I think a 95 gal has similar dimensions but is 'taller'.

Just want to see what other thought before I actually buy and get started.

Thanks in advance
Mike

T5's work up to about 24 inches deep.

Thanks

I'd like to get a bigger tank but with limited space (48" in length) is really all I can allow...I figured I'd get a 75 (or 90)...I found a 75 AGA tank, top, and stand for $269...brand new at a lfs. They will even drill for me for like $20 a hole...I just need to come up with a design quickly. I'm anxious to get the tank running...I know it will take a while for it to get established. I'm not in a hurry for corals, I'd rather have a sweet setup that's running well and gets established.

I also want to build my own PS...been talking to Geoff. It's the design...where top have the holes drilled is where i'm stuck.

Thanks again...later

I like the 75 better than the 90 do to it's dementions, the 120 has the best dementions of all though , cut it in half it makes 2 cubes.

Of course if you are doing SPS coral, you would want 6 or 8 tubes for the 120 though.
