Tank for sale....

No, not mine. I'm not getting out of the hobby just yet. But I saw this add during my usual perusing of the recycler and was curious about a few things. I thought maybe you guys would be curious, too. The add read as follows:

35 gal hexagon acrylic living reef.Beautiful purple live rock &sand, fish & corals.10 gal refugium. Power Compact lighting.Remora skimmer 4 powerheads
Extra Text I have to move :-( and give away tank. 2 35 watt 50/50 EVERYTHING YOU NEED. supplements/ testing checicals spent over $2000. Power compacts &1 30 watt PC actinic. yellow tang, pacific blue tang, lawnmower blenny, 6 line wrasse, purple crocea clam, green hammer coral, candy cane coral, mushrooms, live rock is in great shape (covered in purple coralline & no hair algae) many small hermit crabs and 2 emerald crabs and 1 sally lightfoot. A few snails. Refugium fulll of caulpera and heavily seeded with a mysis & Gammarus shrimp, worms, Stomatella Varia, and micro stars. Provides good plankton for corals. I have a great 1/4 hp chiller & fluval 304 also for sale

Interesting. Don't you think? I emailed him and asked some of the obvious questions. How big is the clam and how long have you had it and the hammer coral under those lights. How big are the two tangs. Etc.

Obviously, if this person had been a member here, other suggestions would have been made to him regarding lighting and stocking. I, myself, am curious to know how much success he's had and for how long with this setup.

I'll let you know.

BTW the price for everything was listed at 750.00

Sounds like a pretty good set-up for the price except as you mentioned the tangs that are in there and the clam as well.

Personally it's more fun to start your own tank and stock it!!

I wasn't thinking about buying it. I'm still working on setting up my 80gal. I was just curious how much success this person has had with this setup. It seems that it wouldn't work for a long period of time. But, if it has worked for a long period of time, I thing that would bring up some interesting questions.
