Tank Drilling in NJ?

I am debating to myself whether I should drill my tank instead of relying on my homemade weir. If I decide to drill it, does anyone know a place in Jersey.....preferably close to Jersey City/Hoboken area where it could be done?

drilling glass is easy. thin tanks like 10's and 15's are tricky, but anything else is easy.

Since the bottom of the tank is tempered glass, where should I drill the whole for an overflow?

This place did my 30 gal sump for $20

It may be a bit far for you, but their prices may be worth the trip.

That's actually only about an 1 hour 15 minutes away from me. I will have to give them a call tomorrow. I am willing to pay to have the holes drilled vs risking cracking my glass. Hopefully they will also know exactly where to put the holes.....I don't.

So I think my wife may have put the kibash on me drilling the tank. She is tired of all of the set backs and just wants me to "get it up and running already." I tried to explain to her that once its set up and filled we will have to live with whatever we decide to do today.

So question. Is using a weir going to be that much of a pain in the arse down the road or will it be acceptable?

plenty of people use HOB overflows, but having the tank drilled is my preference.

if the bottom is tempered than you can always drill through the side near the bottom.
