Tangs, What is the best?
Hi everyone!!!!
I have a 55gal saltwater tank that has been running for about 1 and 1/2years and have some hair algae that has started. Besides that I would like to get a tang that is suitable for my size tank. Does anyone have a good tang for my tank? Oh, I really dont want to get a yellow or purple tang but, if that is the only kind I can get without having to get a bigger tank then ,I will. Please let there be a colorful one out there

thanks for your help

your really gonna need a small tang, something that stays less than 6 or 7 inches, yellows and purples i think get around 8-9 inches, and i think those would be tough in a 55, but possible (dont let the tang police know i said that)

well I have seen a tang eat hair algea, but I'll agree that the blenny would be the best bet for a 55.
If you really want a tang, the Scopas tangs stay pretty small
I've got one (he's on the right)
I've had him for over 3 years now, and I don't think it's getting much bigger

honestly i would stay away form the tangs. Even if it does not get THAT large.. they still get pretty big. they also love to have a lot of swim room..
for the Hair,
watch how much you feed, make sure your skimmer is running good. ton a few turbo snails ( maybe 4) in to the tank, they love hair alga. the LMB will work on it some but not a whole lot, they like the filitment algaes.
