tang problem

i have a 3-4in. yellow tang and i have had him for about a year and he has done great. But i have just noticed that his lips are turning red, could this be a disease or somethings?

Is the fish normal in all other aspects? I tried a search on the internet and only turned up something on fresh water fish and it was unknown to the cause.

yes he eats fine, his colors are bright, all fins are in good shape.

I would keep an eye on him for any other changes. It may just be from picking at the rocks. I am sure someone else may know if it is a disease.

I wouldnt worry. My old tang used to always have discolored lips due to his constant grazing and picking at every little thing. Very Common for Yelllow tangs. How big is your tank?
