lol, that dust pan just brought back memories of when I tore down my first tank. Man that was awful. I cant imgaine how much work is involved in with a tank that size.

Great day off from work, huh? I can imagine that call:

RWD: Yeah hi, Im going to need today off.
Boss: Why whats up? Are you feeling OK?
RWD: Oh yeah I'm fine. I just need to remove some sand so I can expose my bare bottom. You know, pull out some worms and other nasty stuff.
Boss: Um......OK......
RWD: I'll be taking pictures of the whole thing.
Boss: Take all the time you need, but please leave the picture at home.

I'll keep it short as I'm beat. 13 hours straight working on the tank will do that.
Mapster, that was funny LOL
Ruh, yes they hurt maybe more like burn at first then itch.
Thanks for the offer Jeff! and thanks TG I built the hood myself
More pics tomorrow. It's 10 pm and I just finnished the first step of wet sanding the tank. Only about 6 more steps to go. Hopefully I'll start to fill it tomorrow afternoon/evening. Bob

Update

It took about 10 hours to wet sand all of the scratches out of the tank but it turned out pretty good. I used a kit by Rainbow Lifeguard with about 10 pieces of sandpaper of various grits.

Next I started refilling the tank. No sand this time LOL. I had a lot of new saltwater already made so this went fast. Next is the rock and corals but that will have to wait till tomorrow, need some rest. The last pics are of the corals and rock in the garage.

Wow Bob! 10 hrs of sanding? just the tank work involved makes me ache! The soundproofing in your pics , on the stand door , gave me a idea, hope you don't mind me "borrowing" it

Geez, and i thought cleaning the glass well, cleaning the skimmer, and moving a monster leather ,so it could be alone , was a job today,,,

Just might havta invite you down here to help when i move everything downstairs , and add the 200 to the wet inventory LOL!

Congrats on your hard work, keep us posted,,,,

Brahaha, Map! That's hilarious. I didn't know you were over at Bob's and overheard it all

Good documentation of your project, Bob.

Don't you wish a BobCat would fit in there and you'd just be done with it? I know how you feel, sort of energized and dead at the same time.

Your sand was dirtier than mine! LOL

Hi guys,
I feel like I went 10 rounds with Mike Tyson. My whole body is sore from moving everything and sanding in awkward positions (most of the scratches came out Tim) The good news is that it all goes back together today. Hopefully I'll have most of the rock in by this afternoon. Some rocks fused with other rocks and corals and are 40-50 lbs! Some acros are 12"+ across!
Ohh, another tip. A 5 gal shop vac really only holds about 4-1/2 gal of dirty sump water before it shoots out of the exhaust on your new couch.

"Ohh, another tip. A 5 gal shop vac really only holds about 4-1/2 gal of dirty sump water before it shoots out of the exhaust on your new couch."

What The My shop vac never shot out the exhaust. I used a 15G and a 10G shop vac. But when I read that I am sorry to say "I almost Lost it"

What a job that is! On Tues. in my 300G, I pulled all my rock (250-300 lbs), took out a few fish (put them in my 90) & had to put it back together. It took me 14 hours and I still have to fix the right side. Yesterday I was so soar, every muscle ached. I just couldnt do it...lol

I am so glad to hear you are almost done, the fun part is putting it back together, than you can enjoy looking at it.

I have to get a kit for scratches but I just cant force myself to do that part yet.....

ouch! Hope it was leather??

Bob, do you have any help with this, or are you doing it by yourself? Big day - can't wait! I think we should give you the 'Reef Tank Energy Award"! Really an awesome effort and I can't wait to see the end result!
